What is the legal minimum age requirement to buy lighters and matches in the UK?

I know you used to be able to smoke and buy lighters at 16, but the age limit got raised to 18, well at least for smoking. With this did the legal age requirement for buying lighters and matches also raise to 18?

1. Lighters are survival tools. I don't see why there would be any age restrictions.
2. I work in a store which sells tobacco etc. and the age limit for matches and lighters and such is also 18. We have to ID people who look on the young side when they buy a lighter. (You also have to be 18 to purchase Rizlas which is retarded) trouble is now they have all this retarded "if they look under 21 then ID them" business going.
