tips on how to convince parents to ket collect zippo lighters?

I really want to start collecting zippo lighters, but i dont know how to convince my mom to let me. helpful tips please?

2. do it behind her back? my mom would never let me collect lighters, yet i have around 30 :D
3. I will make the ASSUMPTION that you're over 13 years old... If you want to COLLECT them rather than use them to light fires, the answer is SIMPLE: Your Mom gets to keep the insides (wick and flint) locked up until either you turn 18 or she feels you're responsible enough. If you just want to collect them... get a nice display box and there ya go !! DON'T collect them behind her back, nothing will screw with a parents trust more than that sort of thing !! I know... I was a teen, and now I'm a father of two of them !! I understand the attraction... I collected over 30 while I was in the Navy: one from each of my Squadrons (3), ships I deployed on (15), and bases and places I visited. GOOD LUCK
