  1. yes it must be.Contains fluid innit?
  2. no you can weird though, virgin atlantic web site gives a list
  3. just take a cheap one with you ask when you go though customs .if you cant take it throw it away you can always buy a cheap lighter abroad .
  4. No lighters are allowed on any plane. Matches are, but not the easy strike kind.
  5. I dont think so. I flew from Gatwick yesterday and as I went through the security check, put my 2 lighters into the small tray? Nobody said a word.
  6. Just had a look on the web and i would say the ban is still on. There is no mention as you have said but it is considered flammable material. Call the airport to be sure before you go.
  7. yes you can't take them in hand luggage or in your suitcase for some reason, but i dont think they are as strict as about that as when i flew about 2 weeks ago i had one in my suitcase and nothing happened. But the one i had in my hand luggage i had to give to this man collecting them. He now has a lot of lighters all to himself
  8. No only certain types of matches
  9. Yes,Its still every were! They allow one book of matches thou!Hollywood
  10. Lighters no, matches yes
  11. All lighters are banned from your carry on luggage you could only putting in your check luggageis dangerous it could make a hole in the plane if it hit anything that help the plane fly the plane will crash and it also prevent terrorist from blowing up the plane.
  12. From the Manchester Airport Website:- It is an offence to carry any of the following items into the aircraft cabin Toy or replica guns (plastic or metal) Knives of any sort Razor blades Disposable lighters/gas refills Corkscrews Scissors Tweezers Safety pins Hypodermic syringes (unless supported by medical evidence) Builders tools Hammers, nails, screwdrivers Darts Knitting needles Sporting bats Billiard/ snooker/ pool cues Catapults Some umbrellas Household cutlery Acid Explosives Gas cartridges/refills Paint Lighter fuel Mercury Non-permitted items will be confiscated by security
  13. I work at a UK airport. The ban is restricting you from taking the lighter through security screening with you. Once you are through to the terminal you are allowed to purchase lighters which have all been screened before sale. These CAN be taken on to a flight with you. Where you travelling from?
  14. Well you can not smoke so why? do you need a lighter?????
  15. still, not allowed
  16. Still Not Allowed At Heathrow - London
  17. You can't take them.
